Getting started
Set up Pithies in about ten minutes. Connect your Amazon seller account or have the ASINs of the products you sell on Amazon.com ready, plus, ideally, a few competitor listings for each.
Create your account
Go to Sign up, enter your email and a password, then click the link in the confirmation email we send you.
Your 14-day free trial starts the first time you sign in. It covers up to 10 products and needs no card.
Connect your Amazon account (optional)
This is the fastest way to add products, because your listings and current prices fill in without typing. In Settings, under Amazon seller account, click Connect Amazon. Amazon asks you to sign in to Seller Central and approve access for Pithies, then sends you back here.
Access is read-only: Pithies can read your listings and prices, but it cannot change your prices or listings and never sees buyer details. You can disconnect at any time in Settings. Prefer not to connect? Skip this step and add products by ASIN instead.
Add your products
Open Products and click + Add products. Choose one of these tabs:
- From Amazon (if you connected your account): click Show my Amazon listings, tick the products you want to track, and click Add selected. Titles and your current prices fill in. Listings marked “Inactive on Amazon” or “Already tracked” are labelled so you can skip them.
- One ASIN: type the ASIN of your own listing and, if you like, your price. The ASIN is the 10-character code in the Amazon address after
/dp/(for exampleamazon.com/dp/B01LFQYQ1Q), and it is also listed under “Product details” on the listing. - Many at once / report: paste one product per line as
ASIN, price, load the Inventory Report you download from Seller Central (Products, then Product reports), or fill in our blank template.
Enter your price
If you imported from Amazon, your price is already filled in; check it. Otherwise, on each product, type Your price and click Save. You will see “Saved ✓”. Your price is what lets Pithies tell you how far you sit above or below your competitors.
Use the total a buyer pays. If you ship the item yourself, include your shipping charge, because Amazon prices we compare against include shipping.
Add up to 5 competitors per product
Under each product, add the listings you compete with:
- Type a Competitor ASIN and click Add, or
- Click Find competitors and choose how close the match should be: Exact same model only, Same brand family, or Similar products, any brand (for private-label products). Then add the ones that fit. If it says the product has no current price yet, add competitors by ASIN for now and try Find competitors again after the next price check.
Pick listings a buyer would really choose instead of yours: the same or a very close model, sold new. Listings marked renewed or used are still tracked, but they are left out of your price floor.
See your first prices
New products and competitors usually show their first price, rank and stock within a minute of adding them. Refresh the page if you do not see them yet.
If a product still says “No data yet” (or a competitor says “Awaiting first update”), it fills in at the next regular price check. We check prices around 6 AM, 12 PM and 6 PM Eastern.
Choose your emails
In Settings:
- Friday digest email: your weekly summary, sent Friday morning.
- Price-drop alerts: an email when a competitor cuts its price. Choose how big a drop counts (2% to 20%). You are also alerted when a competitor moves from above your price to below it.
Read your Friday digest
Each digest starts with a short This week summary, then a few plain facts for each product: where your competitors’ prices moved, your price floor (the lowest price among your tracked competitors that are new and in stock) and how far you are from it, and changes in Best Sellers Rank.
Past digests are on the Digests page. The digest reports what changed. What to do about it is your call.
Before your trial ends
To keep going, open Settings, then Plan and billing, and choose a plan. If you do not, price checks, alerts and digests pause, but your products and competitors stay saved. See Pricing.
